Joshua Kutryk participates in underwater simulation of a lunar mission in California

From to , CSA astronaut Joshua Kutryk is participating in NASA's SEATEST 7 underwater mission, which is taking place on a lunar habitat mockup off Santa Catalina Island in California, at a depth of about nine metres.

To work towards establishing a long-term presence on and around the Moon, astronauts, including Joshua Kutryk, will test a series of scenarios to plan for future logistics operations on the Moon. The main goal of SEATEST 7 is to optimize the transport of cargo from landers to crewed pressurized living volumes, like a rover or a lunar habitat.
