Renewal of the Earth System Science Advisory Committee
In line with Canada's Strategy for Satellite Earth Observation, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is seeking to enhance its support of innovation and scientific excellence and to broaden societal applications for the benefit of Canadians. The CSA is seeking candidates for the Earth System Science Advisory Committee (ESSAC), which will provide independent advice to the CSA on its scientific activities, programs and initiatives.
The ESSAC focuses on Earth system sciences – a multidisciplinary approach to studying Earth as a system, including the processes and interactions among the hydrosphere, cryosphere, biosphere and geosphere, and their interactions with the atmosphere that connects them. The impact of human activities is an integral part of this approach. The ESSAC will complement and coordinate with other science advisory committees.
We welcome applications from creative and motivated people in academia, government, non-governmental organizations, industry, or other organizations all across Canada, who wish to contribute to building the exciting future of satellite Earth observation. Early career applicants and members of employment equity groups are encouraged to apply.
