Canadarm2 set to catch Cygnus for the resupply mission

On , Northrop Grumman's Cygnus cargo ship is set to launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida, on a resupply mission to the ISS.

Once Cygnus is in orbit, Canadarm2 will grapple the cargo ship and berth it to the ISS. A successful cosmic catch necessitates Canadarm2 to execute extremely precise manoeuvres. The crew aboard the ISS will then initiate the unloading of supplies.

In addition to delivering food and equipment for the crew, Cygnus will be carrying scientific materials including Bio-Monitor wearables for the Canadian experiment Space Health. This study aims to assess how astronauts' cardiovascular systems function on the ISS, and use the gathered data to potentially improve health back on Earth.

Live coverage of Cygnus's launch will begin on NASA TV on , starting at 11:50 a.m. ET.
