Joshua Kutryk: Hello everyone, I’m Joshua Kutryk, an astronaut with the Canadian Space Agency and right now, I’m preparing for my upcoming mission.
I’m the next Canadian who’ll live and work aboard the International Space Station.
The Space Station is a research laboratory that orbits Earth. And it’s where we conduct a variety of scientific experiments to benefit Canadians and all of humanity.
And I’ll have the privilege of calling the Space Station my home for about six months.
it’s gonna be the trip of a lifetime!
And this summer, you too are embarking on a journey of your own.
Through the books that you’ll read, you’ll explore new worlds.
Books are the rocket fuel that you can pick up anytime, any place, and be instantly transported.
And your imagination is really the best kind of spaceship, becausein just a few moments, it can take you anywhere.
So this summer, let your curiosity carry you through the cosmos, to different times and to new horizons – from the ancient riverbeds of Mars, to the icy moons of Jupiter, and even to other planets, stars, and galaxies beyond our solar system.
I also hope you’ll join me on my mission to the Space Station, or my friend Jeremy Hansen as he heads to the Moon during the Artemis II mission.
Become astronauts in your own way this summer.
As you read, let yourself go on adventures that spark your sense of curiosity and exploration.
And most of all, have fun and reach for the stars!
