The year was 2023, which would make the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) 34 years old.

To date, the CSA has recruited 14 astronauts through four different campaigns, nine of whom have participated in 17 space missions.

Most recently, astronaut Jeremy Hansen was selected to be the first Canadian astronaut to travel to the Moon.

Our longstanding partnership with the International Space Station (ISS) has been renewed until 2030.

CSA astronauts have conducted experiments aboard the ISS on many topics ranging from sustainable food growth to astronaut’s cardiovascular health.

For decades, our cutting-edge robots and technology, namely, Canadarm, Canadarm2 and Dextre, have been a great asset to crewed missions in low Earth orbit.

When the Lunar Gateway is established, we will contribute Canadarm3 to this historical stepping-stone.
