The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne: Every day, 24/7, the International Space Station, a remarkable piece of human collaboration, flies above our heads. On board, humanity works together to push science and technology forward. That’s why Canada is proud to commit its talent, its expertise and robots to the Station through 2030.
Lisa Campbell: This is very good news. Canada’s role in the ISS is a critical part of our space program. Our robots have not only helped build the Station and keep it running, but they’re also critical to its future.
Joshua Kutryk: Staying on the Space Station until 2030 will keep our country at the very forefront of space exploration. By extending Canada’s presence, we secure and inspire a new astronaut flight to the International Space Station.
The Honourable Marc Garneau: You know, I had the privilege of working on the Station 22 years ago when we were building it. And so I’m delighted to hear that we’re going to continue until 2030, and then other Canadians will have the chance to go and work on the Station.
The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne: Well, thank you, Marc, for inspiring a generation. This is good news for Canada. This is good news for the international space program, but it’s also good news for humanity. So thank you, everyone, for being part of the journey.
