2020-06-25 – The Government of Canada is turning to space for innovative solutions to detect and monitor the presence of North Atlantic right whales in Canadian waters, and predict the movements of this endangered species.

Narrator: The endangered North Atlantic right whale is an iconic marine mammal.

The Government of Canada continues to take action to help protect North Atlantic right whales, and is now turning to space for innovative solutions to better detect, monitor and predict their movements.

Observing Earth from space provides critical information that helps protect our ecosystems and wildlife.

Space-based solutions have the potential to help shape a better future for the North Atlantic right whale.
