Jenni Sidey: I think I'm well qualified to be an astronaut, mainly from my scientific expertise. So I'm an experimentalist, which means that I have a lot of careful planning and scientific ability associated with my job, and I think that's going to help me a lot if I am selected to be an astronaut. And I also do a lot of public speaking as a lecturer, and a lot of outreach as well.

I'm an engineer, which means that I try and improve people's lives through applied science.

I think my favourite part of the selection process so far has been meeting all the other candidates. I know that's pretty general, but really it is my favourite part. So these Canadians have been with me throughout the selection process, and they've been incredible. So I'd never have an opportunity to meet this person who studies satellites or these exceptional people from the military. And this process, getting a chance to be in a team with them, has been definitely a highlight for me.
