Atmosphere Observing System for weather and air quality forecasting and climate modelling
2022-10-18 – The NASA-led Atmosphere Observing System is a major multi-satellite mission that will improve extreme weather prediction, climate modelling, and monitoring of disasters. The mission goal is to optimize how we examine links among tiny particles known as "aerosols," clouds, atmospheric convection, and precipitation. Canada's contribution to the AOS is the HAWC mission (High-altitude Aerosols, Water vapour and Clouds). (Credit: NASA)
