MOST microsatellite
This photo, taken on August 1, 2002 shows the MOST microsatellite (MOST stands for 'Microvariability and Oscillations of Stars'). This space telecope takes precise measurements of variations in intensity in the brightness of stars. Its data help scientists probe the atmospheres of planets beyond our Solar System, and determine the age of certain stars and, from this information, the age of the universe.
