The Newtsuit

This is the one-atmosphere, hard-shell diving suit designed by Dr. Phil Nuytten of North Vancouver, B.C. The suit can function in very high pressure environments. Because it has sea-level pressure inside, there is no need for decompression in deep sea diving, thus the dangers of decompression sickness are avoided. It has an umbilical system for communications and the transfer of data, and manipulators for picking up tools. (Credit: NASA)
