CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen Sets Out for Geology Field Training in the High Arctic
2013-07-18 - Jeremy Hansen via Twitter on July 18 - A heated arctic love affair. 2 lonely rivers meet, part ways then reunite on a journey to the arctic ocean. Only problem is, late melt this year means the river is high…& we want to explore on the other side!
From July 16 to 25, 2013, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen is in the High Arctic to learn methods and techniques for conducting geological fieldwork that could be applied during future missions to the Moon or an asteroid. Hansen is accompanying Western University's Dr. Osinski and his team from the Centre for Planetary Science and Exploration as they study the Haughton impact crater on Devon Island, Nunavut.
