CSA Astronaut Jeremy Dives into NEEMO19
2014-09-10 - This is in what we dove tonight: millions of planktons. With light off, flap your hands & hundreds fireflies light up. (ESA's Hervé Stevenin via Twitter, Sept. 10)
From September 8 to 14, 2014, CSA Astronaut Jeremy Hansen takes part in NASA's NEEMO19 mission in Aquarius, an underwater habitat located about 19 metres below the surface off Key Largo in the Florida Keys. The undersea environment is the closest analogue on Earth to a gravity-weak environment like that of asteroids, the moons of Mars or Mars itself, making it the best place to test relevant exploration concepts. Jeremy is the Exploration Lead for the mission. (Credit: ESA/Hervé Stevenin via Twitter)
