EVARM reader

EVARM was the first experiment to collect data on radiation exposure received by astronauts during spacewalks. Small electronic devices to measure radiation doses in medical treatments developed by Ottawa's Thomson Nielsen were adapted to fit in space suits for the EVARM project. "EVARM" stands for "extra-vehicular activity radiation monitors." (Credit: Canadian Space Agency)
