This infographic presents a picture of a prototype of the first Canadian rover on an artistic representation of the Moon, along with a series of facts on the mission.

A Canadian rover will explore the Moon to test technologies, advance our knowledge of the lunar environment, and help in the international search for water ice.

Objectives:

• evaluate new technologies
• improve our understanding of the lunar geology
• assess radiation levels
• determine the amount of hydrogen in the lunar soil, an indicator of water ice
• measure surface temperature to better understand lunar
• environment and water ice stability conditions

On the Moon, water is essential to:

• drink
• grow food
• produce oxygen
• make the fuel that will propel rockets for further exploration
