Herbig-Haro 211 – NIRCam

Close-up view of Herbig-Haro 211. Several stars shine brightly in the background.

The James Webb Space Telescope captured a young stellar object, known as Herbig-Haro 211, in high resolution with its Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam).

Herbig-Haro objects are formed when stellar winds or jets of gas spewing from newborn stars form shock waves colliding with nearby gas and dust at high speeds. (Credits: NASA, CSA, ESA/Webb, Tom Ray (Dublin))
