Artemis II SLS rocket core stage arrives to Kennedy Space Center

Rocket core stage on special transporters.

On July 16, 2024, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his Artemis II crewmate Reid Wiseman were at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans to view the fully assembled 65-metre-tall Space Launch System (SLS) core stage rolling out of the factory. The core stage was then transported via NASA's Pegasus barge to Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where it will be integrated with the rocket's solid rocket boosters. (Credit: NASA)
