CST-100 Starliner capsule in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory

A space capsule is suspended from the ceiling. It rests on the surface of water in a pool.

Astronauts assigned to the Starliner-1 mission take water survival training using a CST-100 Starliner capsule in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. The NBL is an enormous pool – with a depth of 12 metres and a volume of 23.5 million litres – and is used to simulate weightlessness. (Credit: NASA)
