Innu Nation Guardians share their knowledge and stories with astronauts
Innu Guardian Hank Rich, with CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen (left), listens on as Guardian David Nui shares stories of the Innu people around a campfire during geology training at Kamestastin crater in northern Labrador.
Kamestastin (also known as Mistastin) lies within the traditional hunting grounds of the Mushuau Innu First Nation and is one of 31 impact craters in Canada. It is a crucial training ground as we return humans to the Moon, because it is the best representation we have on Earth of what astronauts will find there. (Credit: Canadian Space Agency)
