Atlantis

On Flight Day 2, NASA astronaut Daniel Burbank , assisted by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Steve MacLean grappled and unberthed the Canadian-built orbiter boom with the sensor system at its tip. Attached to the Shuttle's Canadarm to extend its reach, the orbiter boom was used to survey the nose cap and leading edges of the wings on Atlantis. (Credit: NASA)
