Summary
The CSA's Youth STEM Initiatives team joins forces with Ulnooweg Education Centre to foster a conversation about Indigenous education. They will present their respective learning resources, activities and opportunities for First Nations, Metis and Inuit educators and youth at a joint booth in Hall C. This event is also an opportunity to listen, learn and share best practices and better understand the many challenges faced by communities.
Chris Googoo of Ulnooweg Development Group and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen will share the stage for an exciting discussion with you about how space can spark interest in STEM and post-secondary education for youth. This session will take place on at 3:30 p.m. in the Pan Am room. Jeremy will explain why it is important for him to incorporate Indigenous ceremony into his preparations for space. Chris and members of Ulnooweg’s Space Force team will talk about their community-first approach to building curriculum that is connected to culture. Engage with CSA and Ulnooweg about current and future resources and how they might inspire your students.
