What is your current job?

Commercial pilot / Post-doctoral fellow, Lakehead University, Department of Chemistry - I have two careers. I fly a Boeing 737 all over North and Central America for a large Canadian airline. I also study Alzheimer's disease and am researching magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods to detect Alzheimer's disease earlier.

Why do you want to become an astronaut?

I have always been interested in science and exploration. During my Ph.D. studies, I studied some of the smallest forces in the human body – the force of two proteins joining one another. Now I'd like to study the very large – space. Being an astronaut combines both of my passions for science and exploration.
